Interschool Carnival 2024
Debrief - Miss Worth
Yesterday morning, I got the students who attended interschool together to do a short debrief of the carnival.
When I put forward the question of “how do you feel about Mallee North winning yesterday?” I called on a student to share their thoughts and feelings.
“Grateful” this response, being the first, took me by surprise…
When asked to elaborate, the student explained that they felt grateful that the other team now gets the chance of having that winning feeling and they were grateful that we got to have the competition that we did.
With this, a few other words were thrown in like, Determined and proud And phrases came out like “We have to make mistakes to learn” and “It’s ok because now those kids get the feeling of winning too”
And yes some of us still shared our disappointment in it all but that’s ok!
These responses filled me with a sense of absolute pride in our students and community. Which is why I’m sharing it with you today.
I believe we are bringing up strong, reflective and caring children in this community and we should all be proud of not only the children but ourselves too.
Students, thank you for all of your hard work over these past 2 weeks, your sportsmanship and drive was amazing to see.
CONGRATULATIONS TO MALLEE NORTH!!
Enjoy the win, we're coming for you next year....
